And the Trap Is Sprung
While the Administration is busy kissing President Snowe's ass, her compatriots have started the process of springing the trap they've laid so very, very well for the Democratic Party.
Thanks to all this waffling and compromising, we're likely faced with being forced to have insurance coverage (with very little in the way of protection against price gouging and a high penalty for non-compliance), or we're not, and all the remaining provisions of this so-called health care reform plan will create a private insurance market that prices a significantly higher percentage of the country (than currently face this problem) out of the health insurance market.
Either way, the Republicans can claim victory and paint this as another Democratic failure (no, this doesn't count for shit, as the Sherman Anti-Trust Act - like all regulatory efforts - was only as effective as the Administration's that enforced it).
It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad...
